Telling a Global-Local Story

How come we feel connected to people far away? How come far away people feel the same emotions? Do we really drink the same drink on every corner of the globe? Is your reality different from others’? Can you find a story in your environment that has a global message?

Think about this title. Find some people who want to help you (either through the partner organisation or on your own). Create a short and simple audiovisual product using a combination of the following:

  • music
  • photographs
  • video footage
  • texts
  • people
  • objects
  • animals
  • nature

Bring this audiovisual product to Greece and be ready to present it on Day 3!

Youth4diversity is very happy to announce that we are organising an international training course in Greece.

Dates: 29 April - 6 May
Arrival/Departure: 28 April / 6 May [to/from Thessaloniki]
Age limit: older than 18 [exceptions may apply]
Countries: Spain, Italy, Greece, Malta, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Ireland and Latvia

This training is for (1) people who work with (young) people, (2) and people who are interested in non-fiction film & visual communication in general.

The training is divided into different parts. One part is going to be devoted to personal development training. We want to focus on communication, self-representation and goal-setting.

The other part is focused on the potentials of visual story-telling and communication. How can audiovisual media be used in an educational project (youth club, classroom, training)? How can it be connected to personal development? These are some of the essential questions that we will answer together.

The social context of the training course is a rural village in the mountains. To promote the idea of visual literacy and volunteerism, we want to involve local NGOs and the local community in certain parts of the training. The way to achieve this will be discovered together.
