Week One - Kick-Off Poster & Welcome

The informal group Global Soma and the International Synergy Group invite participants from 6 countries (Romania, Hungary, Poland, Netherlands, Italy, Greece) for an international exchange called Body Social: society, self, democracy taking place in Greece. It will be a First Step Synergy training focused on self-expression and social inclusion.

Participants will have the chance to see and use movement, dance and drama as a method for exploring social inclusion and personal development. We will be working with learning by experience method.

Age: 18-25

Arrival day: 15th May

Start of training: 16th May, 10:00

We kindly invite everybody for the evening screening of Saturday 3rd May, and for the media workshops to be held on 4th May. Details and starting times will be announced in Laimos!

Starting today at 7 pm in the YMCA building, Alberto Coletta and youth4diversity, under the kind support of the non-governmental organisation Kids in Action, is organising a crash course in media skills for youth workers and people doing work in NGOs. The purpose of the course is to support participants in creating the media products they want during projects with youth. The training continues on the 23rd and 24th of April, 2008.

Telling a Global-Local Story

How come we feel connected to people far away? How come far away people feel the same emotions? Do we really drink the same drink on every corner of the globe? Is your reality different from others’? Can you find a story in your environment that has a global message?

Think about this title. Find some people who want to help you (either through the partner organisation or on your own). Create a short and simple audiovisual product using a combination of the following:

• music
• photographs
• video footage
• texts
• people
• objects
• animals
• nature

Bring this audiovisual product to Greece and be ready to present it on Day 3!
